Welcome to Our Lady of Grace Parish, a Family of Faith

The Presence of Christ, a Beacon of God’s Love

Our Lady of Grace Parish is a faith filled community that embraces diversity and has adapted to the changing environment while maintaining its core Catholic values and identity. By remembering those who have come before us, we honor the legacy of the diversity of our founders who, molded by God’s blessings and the holy priests He empowered, joined together to establish our church.

Welcome to Our Lady of Grace Parish.

I hope that whatever you are seeking you may find some steps here that will lead you to know the God of Love in your life.

You are welcome to walk with us on our social media channels.

St. Anne Church was established in 1919 by Father William Cleary in response to the needs of a growing and multi-ethnic Catholic community in East Moline. Today, over 100 years later, we are still a faith-filled community that embraces diversity and has adapted to the changing environment while maintaining its core Catholic values and identity.

Catholics first gathered as a community under the spiritual leadership of Fr. John G. Alleman in the 1850’s. St. John’s was formally founded in 1878 as a mission. Our ancestors worked hard to lay the foundation of our parish persevering despite harsh and severe living conditions. Even after the first two churches of St. Mary’s were destroyed by fire, they remained firm in their faith.

“God loves us, God loves you all, and evil will not prevail!”

— Pope Leo XIV

Rummage Sale!

The Tugfest Rummage Sale has been held in St. John’s Church in Rapids City for decades. This year it will be better than ever with the combined efforts of both churches.

Volunteers are needed in several specific areas as well as daily help the week of the sale unloading and distributing goods for display. Take your choice: Kitchen: We serve a sloppy joe lunch for $6.00 which is pretty popular. Bake Sale/Produce, outside sales, money counters, and clean up.

Donation hours are: Monday, August 10 through Wednesday, August 12 from 8:00 am-12:00 pm and from 4:00-6:00 pm and on Thursday, August 13 until noon. During these donation hours, we need volunteers to set items out for display. This is really a lot of fun and a great opportunity to make new friends. We have a large area for children’s clothing and particularly encourage donations of gently used children’s clothing.

Over the years, we have taken notice of what items don’t go so well: electronics & televisions, baskets (except Longaberger), coffee mugs, vases, and adult clothing and shoes.

The sale hours are Friday, August 14, from 8:00 am-2:00 pm, Saturday, August 15, from 8:00 am-12:00 pm.

Please call or text Lois Case at 309-737-0697 with any questions or to volunteer. This is going to be FUN!
